RICESEED

RICESEED is a computer program which calculates the recommended seeding rates for rice under varying conditions. The RICESEED program generates the recommended seeding rate for rice varieties based on research conducted on the effects of various factors, including soil texture, seeding date, seeding method and seedbed conditions.

The program has three different options on the main menu: 1) Optimum Seeding Rate, 2) Rate in Lbs/Ac, Bu/Ac, or Seed/Sq Ft, and 3) Exit and Return to the Riceseed Intro Page.

The first option, Optimum Seeding Rate, allows the user to select the variety, the seeding method, the soil type, the seedbed preparation, the region, the seeding date range, and the drill width. Results will display the user's answers to the questions as well as the seeding rate recommendations for seed per square feet, pounds per acre, and bushels per acre. Seeding rate recommendations are displayed for the recommended amounts as well as 20% less and 20% more.

The second option, will allow the user to select variety name, seeding method, drill width, the seeding rate and the unit of measure (bushels per acre, pounds per acre, or seed per square foot). Results shown include the user's answers to the questions as well as the seeding rate recommendations for seed per square feet, seed per row foot, pounds per acre, and bushels per acre. Seeding rate recommendations are displayed for the recommended amounts as well as 20% less and 20% more.

Links are provided at the bottom of each page to print the results.
